George Harrison’s 1964 Gibson SG Standard

George Harrison’s 1964 Gibson SG Standard that was used on the videos “Paperback Writer” & “Rain”. Also used on late 60’s Beatles recordings and live by George with the Beatles at the last ever UK concert – 1966 NME Poll Winners concert, and comes with photos of this show. It was played in the studio by John Lennon circa 1968, and there is footage of this in the “Anthology” DVD set. In 2003 we sold this Gibson SG Standard for John Ham. His brother was Pete Ham of Badfinger, George Harrison had given him this guitar back in the day, when Badfinger were an up and coming band on the Beatles’ Apple label. As the SG was already in the R&R Hall Of Fame in the US, John could only offer us these photos to use that he had taken before the guitar was shipped out. They were taken at unusual angles, but you can see the guitar clear enough. A couple of these photos were also copied and edited for use in the Beatles Gear book by Andy Babuik.
